Liam is still doing well and making great pastries and coffee. Her shop is in the same location with a few new tables and chairs for comfortable seating. She’s still as friendly as ever serving locals and tourists alike.
ORIGINAL POST:
Bangkok were at this village cafe just a short walk from Pho Nimit Station(โพธิ์นิมิตร) on the Green Line. Liam owns and runs the cafe out of the first floor of her cosy house and despite being her first morning customer she made me feel incredibly welcome. Futim Cafe has a nice selection of refreshing beverages including coffee.
LOCATION: Exit Pho Nimit Station on the South side and make your way down Soi Samdet Phra Chao Tak Sin 8 Road. It’s the only road running directly perpendicular to the station. Take the first right and follow that road as it curves to the left. You should see the FT Futim Cafe sign on the left.

You never know what to expect at home-run places like this that are off the beaten path but I was pleasantly surprised by what I found at Futim Cafe. The coffee wasn’t anything fancy but it tasted fine and with plenty of other drinks to choose from there’s something for everyone.
The real gem of Futim Cafe is the taro coconut pastry. It’ sublime! I still think about it from time to time. With a flaky outer crust and warm soft buttery center oozing with sweet coconut I started with one and proceeded to make it my breakfast and ate three more. There are other flavors as well.
Seating is outdoors and limited but the surrounding neighborhood is beautiful. I’d suggest grabbing a cup, at least three pastries and exploring the area on foot or by bicycle. A nearby local and all around cool guy, Prayuth, gives bike tours of the area through his business, Candbike Bangkok Tours LINK.
